Technology is a part of modern life. Our professional and personal lives are infused with computers, gadgets and other technological aids to help us be more efficient and squeeze more into our days. But no one has time to become an expert in all of the areas where technology could be of use.

Websites and blogs contain a lot of useful information to help you quickly get up to speed with new technologies, but I often find that:

• The same simplisitic instructions are duplicated across sites, but they don’t help you use technology to solve a real world problem
• I need to research a topic on numerous sites to glean all the information I need to perform a task
• There are great ways to apply technology that you can only see once you are quite familiar with a product or service

Tech[niques] is dedicated to addressing these issues. If I try to solve a real world problem with technology, but have trouble finding the information I need to get the job done, then I’ll try to plug the gap with a straight forward post gathering all the relevant information in one place.
